Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough extends through the Kimberley and Pilbara and down into the Interior. Little change to this weather pattern is expected over the coming days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends from the Gascoyne towards the Eucla with a ridge of high pressure sitting over the mid west coast. A cold front will approach the southwest corner of the State late this evening and passes over mainly southern districts during Tuesday before weakening and moving into the Bight early Wednesday. A low pressure system will move south of the State in wake of the front maintaining a fresh to strong onshore flow over the southwest before a ridge of high pressure extends along the south coast on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 16 March
Showers and thunderstorms about the eastern Gascoyne, southeast Pilbara, Goldfields, western Interior and Eucla. Showers developing along the west coast south of Jurien Bay in the evening.

Forecast for Tuesday 17 March
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Bremer Bay with thunderstorms southwest of Mandurah to Albany. Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley coast, western Interior, northeast Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla.

Forecast for Wednesday 18 March
Showers southwest of Lancelin to Bremer Bay and along the eastern south coast with possible morning thunderstorms near the western south coast. Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, northeast Gascoyne, western Interior, eastern Goldfields and Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 19 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, west Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Showers along the south coast west of Esperance.

Forecast for Friday 20 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, west Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields and northern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers along the south coast west of Esperance.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
