Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies over inland parts of the Pilbara and extends into the Interior. A tropical low is north of the west Pilbara coast and will brush past the North West Cape tonight, likely remaining off the west Pilbara coast on Friday. The low will move away to the south during the weekend, while a trough will lie over the Pilbara and inland Kimberley. Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge will strengthen over the Southern Ocean with a surface trough extending from a tropical low off the northwest of the State through central parts of the State into the Interior. Another trough will deepen down the west coast on Friday, and a tropical low currently north of the Pilbara will move down the west coast during the weekend, reaching the Southern Ocean on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 12 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the west Kimberley, Pilbara, northern inland Gascoyne, western Interior and southern parts of the Southeast Coastal district. Rain developing over the far western Pilbara during the evening. Showers near the south coast and adjacent parts.

Forecast for Friday 13 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, western Interior and Gascoyne. Areas of rain with the chance of thunderstorms about the far western Pilbara and Gascoyne, contracting south during the day whilst developing over northern parts of the South West Land Division and western Goldfields. Showers near the south coast and Eucla coast.

Forecast for Saturday 14 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the western Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, western Interior. Areas of rain and possible thunderstorms over the South West Land Division, remaining Goldfields and Eucla.

Forecast for Sunday 15 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the western Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, western Interior, northern Goldfields and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Areas of rain with possible thunderstorms over southern parts of the State contracting southeast during the day.

Forecast for Monday 16 March
Showers and thunderstorms about the western and northern Kimberley, southeastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of the South East Coastal District. Showers southwest of a line from Geraldton to Bremer Bay.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
