Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia 
A low pressure trough lies over inland parts of the Pilbara and extends into 
the Interior. This trough will move very little through to Wednesday. A 
tropical low well to the north of the state is moving slowly south towards the 
western Pilbara. It is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone but may 
bring gusty winds and heavy rainfall to the west Pilbara Coast late in the

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia 
A weak ridge of high pressure lies well south of the state. A surface trough 
lies near the west coast and will move east during Wednesday and Thursday as a 
weak cold front brushes the south coast Thursday night. A new ridge will 
develop south of the state on Friday before another trough develops off the 
west coast on Saturday. 

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 10 March 
The chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the west Kimberley, inland Pilbara 
and the Interior. 

Forecast for Wednesday 11 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the west Kimberley, inland Pilbara and the 
Interior. 

Forecast for Thursday 12 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the west Kimberley and Pilbara with possible 
rain developing over the western Pilbara coast during the evening with moderate 
to heavy falls. Chance of thunderstorms over the northern Gascoyne, far 
northern Goldfields and Interior. Showers near the south coast and adjacent 
parts. 

Forecast for Friday 13 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and Pilbara. Areas of rain over 
the western Pilbara and the adjacent Gascoyne. Moderate to heavy falls possible 
for coastal and adjacent parts of the west Pilbara, easing later in the day. 
Shower with the chance of thunderstorms over the remaining Gascoyne, 
Goldfields, western Interior and northern parts of the South West Land 
Division. Showers near the south coast and Eucla coast. 

Forecast for Saturday 14 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the western Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, 
Goldfields, Western Interior, Eucla and the South West Land Division.
