Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough though the Pilbara extends to the remnant low of ex-Tropical Cyclone Esther, currently over the far southeast Kimberley. The low will move east into the Northern Territory later Monday night or into early Tuesday morning.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is building south of the State. A high pressure cell will move well to the south of the State and reach the Bight on Wednesday. A surface trough develops near the west coast on Tuesday and persists into the latter part of the week.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 2 March
Rain and thunderstorms with heavy falls and damaging winds over the far southeast Kimberley and the far northeast Interior, easing later this evening. Showers and thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley, eastern Interior, Pilbara and inland Gascoyne. Light showers over the Eucla.

Forecast for Tuesday 3 March
Rain and thunderstorms over the far southeast Kimberley and the northeastern Interior, easing to showers during the morning. Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley and the western Pilbara. Showers over southern parts of the Eucla.

Forecast for Wednesday 4 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the western Pilbara and far west Kimberley. Possible showers over the north and east Kimberley and near the Eucla coast.

Forecast for Thursday 5 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the west Kimberley and inland central Pilbara and the central northern Gascoyne. Possible showers over the north and east Kimberley.

Forecast for Friday 6 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the near coastal eastern Pilbara. Possible showers over the north and east Kimberley. The chance of showers and thunderstorms over eastern parts of the Southwest Land Division, the southern Goldfields and western Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
