Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the Pilbara coast to the North Interior and will remain near stationary over the next few days. Severe Tropical Cyclone Ferdinand lies well offshore to the north of Karratha, but is not expected to directly affect the WA mainland. The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Esther is expected to move over the Kimberley from later Thursday and throughout Friday. Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough will continue to deepen off the west coast tonight and during Friday, while a ridge of high pressure builds to the south of the State. The trough will then start moving east on Saturday followed by a high pressure cell that will move south of the State during Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 27 February
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls and damaging winds developing over the northeast Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, the South West Land Division and far southwestern Goldfields.

Forecast for Friday 28 February
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls and damaging winds over the north Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, the South West Land Division, western Eucla, far northern Interior and the southwestern Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 29 February
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls and damaging winds over the Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, southwestern Interior, Eucla and central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers over remaining southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 1 March
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls and damaging winds over the Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the Interior, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields, Eucla and far eastern parts of the Southwest Land Division. Showers over remaining southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 2 March
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls and damaging winds over the Kimberley and the far northern Interior. Showers and thunderstorms over the remaining Interior, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Showers over the southeast Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of the South East Coastal district.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
