Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the Pilbara coast to the North Interior and will remain near stationary over the next couple of days. Tropical Cyclone Ferdinand has developed well to the north of Port Hedland, but is not expected to directly affect the WA mainland. The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Esther is expected to move across the Kimberley on Thursday and Friday, before moving off the west Kimberley coast and redeveloping. Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough will lie near the west coast for the next few days, while a ridge of high pressure builds to the south of the State. The pattern remains near stationary through until Friday, when the trough will start moving east.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 24 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, the South West Land Division and the western Goldfields. Thunderstorms possibly severe over parts of the South West Land Division and adjacent Gascoyne and Goldfields.
Forecast for Tuesday 25 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, inland Pilbara,inland Gascoyne, the South West Land Division, far western Eucla and the Goldfields.
Forecast for Wednesday 26 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Thursday 27 February
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls developing over the Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, the South West Land Division and far southwestern Goldfields.
Forecast for Friday 28 February
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls over the Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, the South West Land Division and southwestern Goldfields.
