Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the Pilbara coast to the North Interior and will remain near stationary over the next few days. A tropical low well offshore to the north of Port Hedland is being monitored for development and may become a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours but should not significantly affect the WA mainland.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough will lie near the west coast for the next few days, while a ridge of high pressure builds to the south of the State. The pattern remains near stationary through until the coming weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 23 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, Interior, inland Gascoyne, the South West Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla. A tropical low well offshore to the north of Port Hedland is being monitored for development and may become a tropical cyclone over the next 36 hours, but is unlikely to directly affect the WA mainland,

Forecast for Monday 24 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, southern Gascoyne, the South West Land Division, Goldfields and far western Eucla.

Forecast for Tuesday 25 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley, central Pilbara, Gascoyne, the South West Land Division, far western Eucla and southwestern Goldfields.

Forecast for Wednesday 26 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 27 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley, the South West Land Division and far southwestern Goldfields.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
