Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Damien lies over the central eastern Gascoyne, and will continue to track south during the remainder of today before weakening on Tuesday. A generally westerly flow will persist over northern parts of the State for the next couple of days. A surface trough will develop through the Pilbara and Northern Interior on Wednesday and persist into the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge is developing south of the State. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Damien will move through the eastern Gascoyne on Monday before bringing some areas of rain to the east of the South West Land Division during Tuesday. A trough will develop near the west coast on Tuesday and persist in the area through the remainder of the week.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 10 February
Areas of rain and thunderstorms with heavy falls over the south eastern Gascoyne and adjacent Goldfields. Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, southern Pilbara, remaining inland Gascoyne and the Interior.

Forecast for Tuesday 11 February
Areas of rain and the chance of thunderstorms over the southeastern Gascoyne, eastern parts of the Southwest Land Division and the western Goldfields. Heavy falls over the southeastern Gascoyne. Showers possible over remaining parts of the Goldfields and South West Land Division inland from the west coast. Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior and far west Eucla.

Forecast for Wednesday 12 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern inland Pilbara, adjacent Gascoyne and Interior. Showers about the South East Coastal district, adjacent southern Goldfields and western Eucla, clearing during the day. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms over far southwestern parts of the Southwest Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 13 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and the northern Interior. Thunderstorms possible over western parts of the South West Land Division, apart from along the west coast.

Forecast for Friday 14 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, inland west Gascoyne and the northern Interior. Thunderstorms possible over western parts of the South West Land Division, apart from along the west coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
