Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A tropical low near the west Kimberley coast will move offshore tonight. It
will then continue to move westwards offshore from the Pilbara coast and is
forecast to develop into a tropical cyclone mostly likely on Thursday, before
moving towards the Pilbara coast on the weekend. Refer to

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough lies slightly inland of the west coast and will remain near
stationary until the weekend. The trough will result in very hot conditions
over inland parts of the South West Land Division, as well as driving areas of
thunderstorm activity. A cold front will moves across the south coast on
Saturday night and Sunday pushing the trough east into central WA.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 5 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls possible in the
northwest. Showers and thunderstorms over the North Interior and far eastern
Pilbara. Showers and thunderstorms possible over the inland South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Thursday 6 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara and
northern Interior. Showers and thunderstorms possible over the South West Land
Division, southwest Gascoyne and the far southwest Goldfields, apart from near
the west coast.
Forecast for Friday 7 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, and North Interior.
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the South West Land Division and the
western Gascoyne, apart from near the west coast.
Forecast for Saturday 8 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, and Interior. Becoming
windy near the Pilbara coast with heavy falls possible, depending on the
movement and development of the Tropical Low. Showers and thunderstorms
possible over the South West Land Division and the Gascoyne.
Forecast for Sunday 9 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne northern
Goldfields and Interior. Becoming windy over the central Pilbara with heavy
falls possible, depending on the movement and development of the Tropical Low.
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the South Coastal and South East
Coastal districts.
