Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A broad trough extends from the inland of the Pilbara to the North Interior which will persist over the coming days. A broad W'ly flow over the Kimberley will increase on Monday and Tuesday.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is lies south of the State. A low pressure trough is situated inland from the west coast, and will move eastwards tonight and Saturday. A new ridge of high pressure will build south of the State in its wake on Saturday before another trough forms near the west coast on Sunday.
This new trough will move inland from the west coast during Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 17 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, far northern and western parts of the Interior, the Goldfields, Eucla and central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 18 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and eastern Gascoyne, Interior, Goldfields, Eucla and the adjacent South East Coastal district, contracting northeast during the day. Showers over remaining southern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, clearing by the evening.
Forecast for Sunday 19 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Interior and the northern Gascoyne. Showers over the Eucla, southeast Goldfields and the south coast west of Bremer Bay.
Forecast for Monday 20 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara and the northern Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 21 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeastern Pilbara and the northern Interior. Showers about the south coast west of Bremer Bay.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
