Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia 
The monsoon trough extends over the northern Kimberley with Tropical Cyclone 
Blake located just off the west Kimberley coast. The system will move southwest 
towards the eastern Pilbara coast, before making landfall late Tuesday or early 
Wednesday. The system will continue weaken as it moves inland towards the 
southeast on Thursday. The monsoon trough weakens as it contracts to the 
northern Kimberley on Friday, with a broad trough lying extending through the 
Pilbara and Kimberley on Saturday. A Tropical Cyclone Warning is current.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia 
A trough extends from the Gascoyne to eastern parts of the South West Land 
Division and will remain near stationary on Wednesday before moving east on 
Thursday and Friday. A ridge of high pressure will develop along the south 
coast in the wake of the trough on Thursday before a trough develops down the 
west coast on Friday as a high pressure ridge strengths to the south of the 
State. 

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 7 January 
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and 
the Interior. Rain with squally thunderstorms and heavy falls possible about 
the west Kimberley coast and the eastern Pilbara. 

Forecast for Wednesday 8 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Interior, 
Eucla, Goldfields as well as northern and eastern parts of the South West Land 
Division. Rain and moderate to heavy falls possible over the eastern Pilbara, 
northeast Gascoyne and the adjacent Interior. 

Forecast for Thursday 9 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, 
Interior, Eucla, Goldfields as well as eastern parts of the South West Land 
Division. Rain and moderate to heavy falls possible over the northeast 
Gascoyne, Goldfields, western South Interior and the Eucla. 

Forecast for Friday 10 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeastern Gascoyne, 
Interior, Eucla and the northeast Goldfields. Rain and moderate to heavy falls 
possible over the South Interior and the adjacent Goldfields and Eucla 
districts. 

Forecast for Saturday 11 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, 
Interior, northern Eucla and the northern Goldfields. Moderate to heavy falls 
possible over the north Kimberley coast.
