Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies inland from the Pilbara coast, and will move offshore over the weekend. A tropical low is likely to form over waters well to the north of the Pilbara coast over the weekend, and during Sunday and Monday it is likely to develop whilst moving towards the the west Kimberley coast. Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A new ridge develops near the south coast and a high moves south of the Bight during Saturday. A trough will develop near the west coast on Sunday, and will move east into the eastern parts of the South West Land Division on Monday and Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 3 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, northeast Gascoyne, and the northern Goldfields. Areas of rain and the chance of a thunderstorm over the South Interior and eastern Eucla. Showers possible over southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 4 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, North Interior and the northeast Gascoyne. Areas of rain with the chance of a thunderstorm over the South Interior and the adjacent Eucla districts with moderate to heavy falls possible over the Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 5 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara and the Interior. Heavy falls possible about the northwest Kimberley coast.

Forecast for Monday 6 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and the North Interior. Heavy falls possible about the northwest Kimberley coast.

Forecast for Tuesday 7 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and the Interior. Moderate to heavy falls possible about the west Kimberley coast, and the eastern Pilbara.
