Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies inland from the Pilbara coast. The trough will move temporarily offshore from the western Pilbara coast for a period over the next few mornings.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies near the south coast. During Wednesday a trough will develop through the Gascoyne and Goldfields. A weak front will brush the western south coast on Thursday, and the trough will deepen through the Goldfields and move east into the Eucla during the day. By Friday, the trough moves into the Interior and a new ridge develops near the south coast during the day.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 31 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, central and the northern Interior. Moderate rainfall possible about the northwest Kimberley coast.

Forecast for Wednesday 1 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, Interior, and northeast Gascoyne. Moderate rainfall possible about the northwest Kimberley coast.

Forecast for Thursday 2 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, far northeast Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers possible over southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 3 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, Interior, far northeast Gascoyne and Eucla. Showers possible over southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 4 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, Interior, northeast Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
