Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies inland from the Pilbara coast, pushing offshore from the west coast over the next few days during the morning. A tropical low may develop over waters well north of the Kimberley coast later on Sunday or during Monday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough lies over the southern Interior and will continue moving northward tonight. A ridge develops through southern parts of the state in the wake of the trough. A new trough will develop through central parts of the state on Saturday and move eastwards and deepen on Sunday ahead of a weak front that brushes the southwest. A new ridge will develop near the south coast on Monday.

Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, north and east Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and the northern Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 28 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior and north and east Gascoyne and the northern Goldfields, with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the Eucla.

Forecast for Sunday 29 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, northern Gascoyne and the far northern Goldfields. Moderate to heavy rainfall possible about the north Kimberley coast. Showers developing about coastal and adjacent parts between Lancelin and Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Monday 30 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east Pilbara and the Interior.

Forecast for Tuesday 31 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and central Interior and the northeast Gascoyne.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
