Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia 
A broad area of low pressure lies over northern parts of the State. On Thursday 
a ridge will develop over central parts of the State and drift towards the 
south coast on Friday as a trough develops over the eastern Pilbara and 
Interior. 

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia 
A broad trough extends through the Goldfields and eastern parts of the South 
West Land Division and will move eastwards on Thursday as a weak cold front 
crosses the southwest. A ridge will begin to develop near the south coast on 
Friday before a new trough develops near the west coast on Saturday, before 
moving eastwards on Sunday. 

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 18 December 
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, 
northeast Gascoyne and northeast Eucla. 

Forecast for Thursday 19 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east Pilbara, Interior, northern 
and eastern Goldfields, Eucla, northeast Gascoyne and the adjacent South East 
Coastal district. Showers developing about the Southwest Capes during the 
morning and extending to areas southwest of a line from Geraldton to Bremer Bay 
during the afternoon, before clearing to the south coast west of Hopetoun in 
the evening. 

Forecast for Friday 20 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, 
Interior, northeast Gascoyne, northeastern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers about 
the south coast and adjacent parts west of Bremer Bay, clearing in the 
afternoon. 

Forecast for Saturday 21 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, eastern 
Gascoyne and the northern Goldfields. 

Forecast for Sunday 22 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and central 
Interior, eastern Gascoyne, western Goldfields and central and eastern parts of 
the South West Land Division. 

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
