Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough of low pressure lies over the western Kimberley and inland Pilbara. Another branch of the trough lies from the eastern Pilbara down across the Interior and is expected to move eastwards over the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure system lies very close the west coast near Rockingham and is expected to continue moving east southeast to move offshore from the south coast Saturday morning. This system is likely to produce wind and wave conditions typical of a strong winter cold front. A ridge develops rapidly over the central west coast in the wake of the low and will become established over southern parts of the State later on Saturday and during Sunday. The ridge moves to be south of the state on Monday and then a trough develops near the west coast on Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 4 October
Showers and windy conditions over the western and central South West Land Division, easing this evening. Damaging gusts possible near and inland from the west coast between Dongara and Mandurah, easing this evening. Showers tending to areas of rain about the western south coast. Showers and thunderstorms over remaining southern and eastern South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and western Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 5 October
Showers through southern and coastal South West Land Division contracting to the south coast and the Eucla during the morning. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the north Kimberley coast.

Forecast for Sunday 6 October
Some showers about the south coast. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the north Kimberley coast.

Forecast for Monday 7 October
Isolated showers about the south coast. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the north Kimberley coast.

Forecast for Tuesday 8 October
Mostly sunny.
