Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad surface trough extends from the west Kimberley towards the Interior with a secondary trough branch also extending towards the Pilbara. Little change to this pattern is expected over the coming days, however the trough will deepen during Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough through central parts of the South West Land Division is moving east ahead of a cold front crossing the southwest Capes Monday afternoon through to Tuesday morning. A new ridge of high pressure will then develop over southern WA during Tuesday with a high developing in the Bight on Wednesday. Another trough will deepen over eastern parts of the state on Thursday as a stronger cold front crosses the southwest of the state during Thursday and Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 30 September
Showers and thunderstorms over the central and eastern South West Land Division in the afternoon and evening, contracting from the west in the evening. Showers extending over areas southwest of a line Lancelin to Bremer Bay this afternoon and evening with a risk of a thunderstorm over the Southwest Capes.

Forecast for Tuesday 1 October
Early showers about the western south coast and the Lower West district. Showers and thunderstorms over the Southeast Coastal district, clearing during the morning.

Forecast for Wednesday 2 October
Showers developing over the Southwest district later in the day. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the Goldfields.

Forecast for Thursday 3 October
Showers developing over areas southwest of Kalbarri to Hopetoun with thunderstorms possible over southern parts.

Forecast for Friday 4 October
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and the adjacent Eucla with thunderstorms possible over southern parts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
