Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the western Pilbara through to the Kimberley coast. The trough will move east towards the North Interior during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies south of the State, with a trough near the west coast that will move inland overnight and further east during Tuesday. A cold front will move across southwestern parts of the State during Wednesday and a ridge developing over the south of the State during Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 16 September
Possible showers and thunderstorms over areas southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Merredin to Ravensthorpe. Only light and very patchy falls are expected.
Forecast for Tuesday 17 September
Chance of a morning thunderstorm near the south coast east of Albany.
Forecast for Wednesday 18 September
Showers developing southwest of a line from Lancelin to Albany, increasing in the afternoon with possible thunderstorms over southwestern parts. Showers also extending through remaining areas southwest of a line from Geraldton to Israelite Bay during the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Thursday 19 September
A cold day in the south with showers through the South West Land Division and southwestern Goldfields clearing to southern coastal districts by midday.
Forecast for Friday 20 September
Showers near the south coast, Eucla coast and SW Capes.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
