Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the west Kimberley into the central Pilbara and will remain near stationary for the next few days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight with a ridge extending along the south coast. The high will move slowly east during Tuesday with a trough developing near the west coast on Wednesday. The trough will move east during Thursday ahead of a strong cold front that will reach southwestern parts of the State in the evening. On Friday the strong cold front will weaken while moving over the south of the State. Another cold front will reach the west coast Friday evening.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms over the South Interior and northern Goldfields.
Forecast for Tuesday 27 August
Mostly clear across the State.
Forecast for Wednesday 28 August
Sunny. Warm conditions over western parts of the State.
Forecast for Thursday 29 August
Showers developing near the west coast during the morning, increasing during the afternoon and extending through areas southwest of a line from Coral Bay to Merredin to Bremer Bay. Thunderstorms possible southwest of a line from Perth to Bremer Bay in the afternoon and evening. Warm conditions over central and eastern parts of the State.
Forecast for Friday 30 August
Showers through the South West Land Division, contracting to southwest of a line Geraldton to Esperance in the evening. Showers in the Gascoyne, west Pilbara, Goldfields, and Eucla, clearing the Gascoyne and west Pilbara in the evening. Thunderstorms possible southwest of a line from Perth to Bremer Bay.
