Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong ridge of high pressure lies over southern parts of the State, maintaining a general east to southeasterly flow over the region. The ridge will weaken and trough will develop near the west Pilbara later on Wednesday, before moving east during Thursday and Friday. A new high pressure ridge will develop over central parts of the State on Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system lies over the Bight and extends a ridge across southern WA. A weak cold front is expected to reach the South West Capes Wednesday evening and push through southwestern parts of the South West Land Division on Thursday. A second, more significant cold front moves over the South West Land Division during Friday, with a westerly flow persisting over southern parts during Saturday.

Mostly clear across the State.
Forecast for Wednesday 17 July
Widespread morning frost about southeastern parts of the State. Showers developing southwest of a line from Bunbury to Albany in the evening. A windy morning over northern districts.
Forecast for Thursday 18 July
Showers southwest of a line from Lancelin to Esperance.
Forecast for Friday 19 July
Showers extending throughout the South West Land Division during the day, reaching the southwest Gascoyne and southwest Goldfields later in the day. Thunderstorms and small hail possible southwest of a line from Perth to Esperance in the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Saturday 20 July
Showers over western parts of the South West Land Division and also along the south coast, where thunderstorms and small hail are also possible. Showers possibly extending inland to remaining parts of the South West Land Division for a period during the day. Early showers over the Goldfields and Eucla.
