Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure system over southeastern Australia will direct dry east to southeasterly winds over northern parts for the next few days. A trough will start to develop over the inland Kimberley and Pilbara during Thursday and Friday. By Saturday the trough will lie through the inland Kimberley and into the North Interior.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is expected to reach the southwest Capes late this evening, and then move through the southwest of the State during Thursday. Cool southerly winds behind the front as a high pressure system sits off the southwest corner and a low develops in the Bight during Friday and Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 15 May
Showers developing about the South West district during the late evening.

Forecast for Thursday 16 May
Showers extending through the South West Land Division during the day, only light falls expected in northeastern part. Small hail possible near the south coast in the evening. Hail possible about southern coastal parts late afternoon and evening. Showers developing over the southwest Goldfields and southwest Gascoyne during the afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Friday 17 May
Showers and small hail possible over southern parts of the South West Land Division and the Eucla. Thunderstorms possible over the South East Coastal district and the Eucla late evening. Mainly light showers about the Goldfields, Gascoyne and southern Interior, contracting eastwards during the day. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms about the southeast Kimberley and northeast Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 18 May
Showers over southern coastal districts and adjacent inland parts with possible thunderstorms and hail over the eastern south coast. Windy with showers, thunderstorms and small hail near the Eucla coast. Showers and thunderstorms about the Kimberly and eastern Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 19 May
Showers about the eastern south coast clearing eastwards during the afternoon. Showers developing about the South West district late afternoon increasing and extending into the Lower West, Great Southern and South Coastal district late evening. Isolated thunderstorms about the Kimberley and northeast Interior.
