Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad surface trough lies over the Kimberley and Pilbara. A ridge developing over the west of the State on Saturday will cause the trough to contract into the Kimberley.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong cold front will reach the SW Capes during Thursday evening, and will move east across the southern parts of the State on Friday. A ridge of high pressure will develop over the South West Land Division during Saturday and Sunday. A weak cold front will reach the SW Capes Monday evening.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 18 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley, Goldfields and eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and far eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers and thunderstorms developing about the South West and extending to the southern Lower West and western South Coastal during the evening.
Forecast for Friday 19 April
Gusty showers and thunderstorms with small hail over the South West Land Division. Damaging winds possible southwest of a line Lancelin to Bremer Bay. Possible snow flurries on the Stirling Ranges in the evening. Showers and thunderstorms over the Goldfields, far east Gascoyne, Eucla, Interior, eastern Pilbara and western Kimberley. Showers about the west Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 20 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the south coastal districts with gusty winds and small hail, easing in the afternoon. Possible snow flurries on the Stirling Ranges in the morning. Gusty showers over western parts of the South West Land Division contracting offshore in the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms in the Eucla, Interior, and western Kimberley. Chance of a showers about the southwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Sunday 21 April
Morning frost possible through the Great Southern and Central Wheat Belt. Showers and thunderstorm about the north and west Kimberley. Showers about the south coast east of Bremer Bay, contracting to the Eucla by the afternoon.
Forecast for Monday 22 April
Slight chance of showers about the Eucla. Showers developing about the South West and adjacent South Coastal districts during the evening.
