Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Tropical Cyclone Veronica lies just off the central Pilbara coast and has weakened to below category one intensity. It is likely to move west and further weaken below tropical cyclone intensity later Monday night. A trough extends from the Pilbara into the Interior of the State.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies near the south coast. The ridge strengthens on Monday over southern parts of the State with a high moving into the Bight on Tuesday. A trough will develop near the west coast by Wednesday morning before moving inland during the day. A new high pressure ridge will develop near the south coast during Thursday and Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 25 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, and northern parts of the Interior with rain slowly easing over the Pilbara. Light showers near the Eucla coast.
Damaging winds and heavy rainfall easing over the central Pilbara coast and adjacent parts as Tropical Cyclone Veronica, category 1, weakens further during Monday night.

Forecast for Tuesday 26 March
Showers, rain and thunderstorms possible about the northwest Pilbara coast easing throughout the day. Showers and thunderstorms through the Kimberley, remaining Pilbara, northwest Interior and far northern Gascoyne. Possible light showers about the Eucla coast in the morning.

Forecast for Wednesday 27 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the far north Kimberley, western Pilbara, Gascoyne, Central West and northern Central Wheat Belt.

Forecast for Thursday 28 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north Kimberley, western Pilbara and Gascoyne and far northern parts of the South West Land Division, mostly afternoon and evening. Showers near the south coast.

Forecast for Friday 29 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north Kimberley, western Pilbara, northwest Gascoyne and northern parts of the Central West district, mostly afternoon and evening. Showers near the south coast.
