Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the inland Kimberley to the Pilbara and will remain fairly stationary for the next few days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the Pilbara to the Goldfields and will move slowly east during the remainder of Thursday and during Friday. A weak cold front will brush the south coast during Friday with a new ridge of high pressure developing south of the State on Saturday. A high pressure system will move into the Bight and a surface trough will form near the west coast during Sunday. A stronger high pressure ridge develops well south of the State during Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 28 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, northern and western Interior, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla, eastern Central Wheat Belt and northern and eastern parts of the Southeast Coastal districts. Showers possible near the south coast west of Esperance. Very hot over central and southeastern parts of the State.

Forecast for Friday 1 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers near the south coast and southern parts of the Lower West district in the morning. Very hot over southeastern parts of the State.

Forecast for Saturday 2 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior and northeastern Gascoyne. Early morning thunderstorms over the eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Light showers possible near the eastern south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 3 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior and Gascoyne.

Forecast for Monday 4 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Gascoyne and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers near the south coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
