Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the central Gascoyne to the Interior and will gradually contract northwards on Thursday and Friday before moving south again on Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State with a surface trough near the west coast. The surface trough will deepen during Thursday before moving inland during Friday. A weak front will brush the south of the State during Saturday with another ridge of high pressure building in its wake.

Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara and North Interior.

Forecast for Thursday 31 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, North Interior and northeast Gascoyne. Very hot over northwestern parts of the South West Land Division and the western Gascoyne.

Forecast for Friday 1 February
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, North Interior and northern Gascoyne. Very hot over the South West Land Division. Very hot over northern and western parts of the State.

Forecast for Saturday 2 February
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior and the northern Gascoyne. Showers developing about the south coast west of Esperance during the day. Very hot over the Goldfields and northern parts of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 3 February
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara and northern Gascoyne. Light showers along the south coast east of Albany. Very hot over northern parts of the State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
