Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies through the Pilbara and South Interior, and will shift north to lie through the Pilbara and North Interior during Friday, where it will remain for the next few days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge lies south of the State. A surface trough will develop down the west coast on Friday and deepen on Saturday, before moving inland from the west coast during Sunday and contracting eastwards towards the Goldfields during Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 17 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, Interior and Eucla.

Forecast for Friday 18 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior and the eastern Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 19 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and Interior. Very hot through the Gascoyne and western parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 20 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, north and east Interior and the inland Gascoyne. Very hot through the Gascoyne and most of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 21 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, north and east Interior, the inland Gascoyne and central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through the Gascoyne, Goldfields and inland parts of the South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
