Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies along the Pilbara coast and through the inland Kimberley and will remain near stationary over the next few days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State. A deepening surface trough near the west coast will move eastwards tonight and Thursday as a weak cold front brushes the south coast Thursday night. A ridge quickly builds over southern parts of the State in the wake of the front on Friday. Another trough deepens inland of the west coast on Saturday before moving slowly eastwards on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 9 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, north and west Interior and the Goldfields. Areas of rain over the Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 10 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, far northeast Gascoyne, Interior, eastern Goldfields and the Eucla. Some evening showers over coastal areas between Bunbury and Bremer Bay. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley, Interior and Goldfields.

Forecast for Friday 11 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara and the Interior. Very hot in the Pilbara, Kimberley and Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 12 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, far northeast Gascoyne and Interior. Very hot over most of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 13 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, Interior and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers over the Southwest and South Coastal districts and the adjacent Great Southern. Very hot over northern and eastern parts of the State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
