Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies through the Pilbara and inland Kimberley and will remain near stationary over the next few days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State. A trough near the west coast will move inland this evening. The trough will remain inland of the west coast during Monday, but will move off the west coast on Tuesday, before moving inland again on Wednesday and further eastwards on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 6 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, northern Interior, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot in parts of the Lower West, Gascoyne, Pilbara and southern Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 7 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, western Gascoyne and northern Central West. Showers possible in southern coastal areas between Windy Harbour and Israelite Bay. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley and western Gascoyne.

Forecast for Tuesday 8 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers over the Southeast Coast and South Coast. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley and western Gascoyne.

Forecast for Wednesday 9 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, north and western Interior, eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and west Eucla. Some light morning showers over coastal areas east of Albany. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley and western Gascoyne.

Forecast for Thursday 10 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley,inland Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, north and western Interior, eastern parts of the Southeast Coastal district, Goldfields and Eucla. Some evening showers over coastal areas between Cape Leeuwin and Walpole.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
