Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A sharp surface trough lies over the western Pilbara, with a broader area of low pressure extending through to the North Interior and southern Kimberley.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front will brush the western south coast during Friday. A ridge of high pressure will develop in the wake of the cold front to the south of the State on Saturday as a troughs develop along the west coast. The trough will deepen on Sunday and remain near the west coast on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 3 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara and Interior. Showers possible near the western south coast.

Forecast for Friday 4 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern inland Pilbara, Interior, northeast Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields. Showers near the western south coast. Very hot in the Pilbara, Interior and southern Kimberley.

Forecast for Saturday 5 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far northeast Interior, inland Pilbara and the inland Gascoyne. Very hot in the Pilbara, Interior and southern Kimberley.

Forecast for Sunday 6 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, North Interior, inland Gascoyne and northern and central parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 7 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and inland Pilbara. Showers possible near the eastern Eucla coast. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley and western Gascoyne.
