Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough across the inland Pilbara southern Kimberley, which should deepen slowly over the next few days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State and will build as a high pressure system moves into the Bight on Friday. A trough near the west coast will continue to deepen tonight and Friday before moving offshore for a period on Saturday. The trough on Sunday will extend from the western Gascoyne through central parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 20 December
Chance of mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the east Kimberley, northeast Interior, southern Pilbara and northern Gascoyne.
Forecast for Friday 21 December
Chance of mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Interior, inland Pilbara, Gascoyne, far northern Goldfields, western Interior and the northern Central West District.
Forecast for Saturday 22 December
Chance of mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, southern Pilbara, western Gascoyne and the Central West District.
Forecast for Sunday 23 December
Chance of mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeastern Pilbara, southwest Gascoyne, Central West District, western parts of the Central Wheat Belt, inland Lower West district, extending into the Great Southern and South Coastal districts during the evening.
Forecast for Monday 24 December
Chance of mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and the adjacent Interior. Mainly morning showers expected along the south coast and adjacent parts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
