Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies inland from the Pilbara coast and across the Kimberley. Another trough extends from the inland Pilbara across the Interior to a deep low pressure system over the southeast of the State, moving east over the next couple of days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough through the Goldfields extends to a deep low over the southeast of the State. The trough is expected to contract eastwards to be over the east of the State during tonight and tomorrow. A ridge of high pressure will develop over southern parts of the State from late Monday and strengthen further on Tuesday. A trough begins developing down the west coast on Wednesday, deepening on Thursday and Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 17 December
Showers and thunderstorms about the Southeast Coastal district, Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior, slowly clearing from the west. Showers along the western south coast, tending periods of rain near the central south coast. Chance of a thunderstorm in the northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Tuesday 18 December
Early morning thunderstorms in the Eucla. Showers about southern coastal districts and Goldfields, contracting to southern coastal parts by the evening. Chance of a thunderstorm in the northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Wednesday 19 December
Chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the northern Kimberley. Chance of a morning shower near the central and eastern south coast.

Forecast for Thursday 20 December
Chance of mainly afternoon thunderstorms in the north and east Kimberley, northeast Interior, southern Pilbara, Gascoyne and adjacent Central West. Chance of a morning shower near the central and eastern south coast.

Forecast for Friday 21 December
Chance of thunderstorms in the Kimberley, north Interior, Pilbara, Gascoyne, far northern Goldfields and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of a morning shower near the central and eastern south coast.
