Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies inland from the Pilbara coast and across the Kimberley. Another tries extends from the inland Pilbara across the Interior to a deep low pressure system over the southeast of the state, with both moving east over the next couple of days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough lies east from the Central Wheat Belt to a deep low over the southeast of the state. The trough is expected to contract eastwards to be over the east of the state during tonight and tomorrow. The low pressure system then moves into the Bight during Monday night and Tuesday morning. A ridge of high pressure will develop over southern parts of the State from late Monday and strengthen further on Tuesday. A trough begins developing down the west coast on Wednesday and Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 16 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, eastern Interior and eastern Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms in the Central West and southern Gascoyne, developing in the central and eastern South West Land Division this evening. Slight chance of a thunderstorm in the Lower West and adjacent parts this evening. Showers contracting to the south coast in the Southwest and South Coastal districts.

Forecast for Monday 17 December
Showers and thunderstorms about central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and the Eucla, clearing from the west. Showers along the south western south coast, tending to showers and periods of rain near the central south coast. Morning showers for mid west coast. Chance of a thunderstorm in the northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Tuesday 18 December
Showers near the south coast and extending into the southern Goldfields, easing. Chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Wednesday 19 December
Chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the northern Kimberley. Chance of a morning shower near the central and eastern south coast.

Forecast for Thursday 20 December
Chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the north and east Kimberley and northern Gascoyne.
