Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Kimberley through the western Interior and into the southern Gascoyne and shifts further eastwards over the next couple of days. A new trough develops through the inland Pilbara through to the north Interior on Sunday and will remain near stationary to the middle of next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure cell lies in the Bight with a deep trough inland from the west coast with an embedded low pressure system over the Central Wheat Belt. This low and trough will move eastwards over southern parts of the State over the course of the weekend and reach South Australia late on Monday. A ridge of high pressure will develop over southern parts of the State late Monday and strengthen further on Tuesday. A trough begins developing down the west coast on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 15 December
Possible showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and western Interior. Showers and thunderstorms over the southern half of the South West Land Division. Showers developing along the Central West Coast in the late evening.
Forecast for Sunday 16 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Rain with possible thunderstorms over the Southwest and South Coastal districts, with showers and thunderstorms remaining parts of the South West Land Division and adjacent Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla. Showers about the west Gascoyne.
Forecast for Monday 17 December
Showers and thunderstorms about central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and the Eucla. Morning showers for the west coast including the Gascoyne and far western Pilbara. Showers and thunderstorms about the north and east Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 18 December
Showers and drizzle over southern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and the Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms about the northeast Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 19 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Showers about southern coastal parts.
