Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extending from the central Pilbara through the Interior will push north into the inland Kimberley and extend to inland of the west Pilbara coast during Thursday. The trough will move well inland from the Pilbara coast later on Friday, moving further inland during Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front will move over the southwest of the state this evening, weakening rapidly overnight as a new ridge develops south of the state. A high pressure cell will become established in the Bight by Thursday as a trough develops along the west coast. The trough will deepen on Friday before moving inland on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 11 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields, Eucla and far eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers developing about southwestern parts of the South West Land Division in the evening.
Forecast for Wednesday 12 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far eastern Pilbara, Interior and eastern Eucla. Showers about the west coast south of Geraldton during the morning and also over southern coastal districts, contracting to coastal parts east of Esperance late in the day.
Forecast for Thursday 13 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, possibly extending into the west Kimberley, eastern and inland Pilbara during the afternoon.
Forecast for Friday 14 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms developing over the South West District later in the day, with a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms through the inland Gascoyne, Central West, Central Wheat Belt and Perth Hills.
Forecast for Saturday 15 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the South West District contracting to eastern parts of the South West Land Division during the day.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
