Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends through eastern and northern parts of the State, redeveloping near the Kimberley and Pilbara coast over the weekend, before moving southeastwards early next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough weak trough lies just inland from the west coast and it will deepen and move inland during Monday. The trough slowly contracts eastwards on Tuesday ahead of a weak cold front expected to reach the far southwest of the state Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday, a large high pressure system will rapidly develop over the south of the State in the wake of the cold front, and will remain over southern parts through to the end of the week.

Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley, Interior, eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and northern Goldfields.

Forecast for Sunday 9 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern and central Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields, eastern Gascoyne, inland Eucla and eastern parts of the Central Wheat Belt.

Forecast for Monday 10 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields, eastern Gascoyne, Eucla, central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Tuesday 11 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields, southeast Gascoyne, Eucla and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers developing about southern coastal parts west of Albany in the afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Wednesday 12 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, far northern Goldfields and eastern Gascoyne. Showers about the west coast south of Geraldton and also southern coastal districts, contracting to Southeast Coastal and Eucla districts by midday.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Sunday.
