Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Kimberley through the Pilbara and into the Gascoyne and will move into the eastern Kimberley and Interior during Thursday. A weak ridge will build over the North West Cape during Friday. A pre-frontal trough will reach the west Pilbara during Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough through the inland Gascoyne extends offshore from the Lower West Coast to a weak low pressure system. The low will weaken as the trough contracts eastwards on Thursday and Friday. A pre-frontal trough expected to cross the west coast later on Friday or early Saturday. A cold front expected over the southwest of the State overnight Saturday and early Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 10 October
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the southeast Kimberley, east Pilbara, Interior and adjacent Goldfields. Showers and the slight chance of thunderstorms through southern parts of the South West Land Division and the Eucla District.
Forecast for Thursday 11 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible about southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern and eastern Goldfields and Eucla in the morning, extending into the Interior, Kimberley and east Pilbara in the afternoon. Showers mainly about coastal parts for the Central West, extending into the Lower West during the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Friday 12 October
Showers about western parts of the South West Land Division, extending throughout the South West Land Division during the day. Thunderstorms possible about southern parts of the South West Land Division and Eucla, gradually contracting eastward during the day. Showers and thunderstorms in the far eastern Interior, extending throughout the northern and eastern Kimberley in the afternoon.
Forecast for Saturday 13 October
Showers and thunderstorms extending to southwest of a line Coral Bay to Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms in the far north Kimberley during the afternoon. Becoming windy through the Gascoyne in the afternoon.
Forecast for Sunday 14 October
Showers southwest of a line Shark Bay to Eucla, with the chance of thunderstorms south of a line Jurien Bay to Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms in the far north Kimberley during the afternoon. Windy over the southern half of the State.
