Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Kimberley through the Pilbara and into the Gascoyne and will move into the eastern Kimberley and Interior during Wednesday and Thursday. A weak ridge will build over the North West Cape during Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough through the inland Gascoyne extends offshore from the Central West Coast with a weak low pressure system to develop offshore during Wednesday. The low will weaken as the trough contracts eastwards on Thursday and Friday, with a pre-frontal trough expected to cross the west coast later on Friday, ahead of cold front expected near the southwest of the State on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 9 October
Showers and thunderstorms in the eastern Kimberley and North Interior. Showers and thunderstorms through the Lower West, South West and adjacent Great Southern and South Coastal Districts. Isolated showers along the coastal fringe east of Israelite Bay.

Forecast for Wednesday 10 October
Showers and thunderstorms redeveloping over the Lower West, Central Wheat Belt and southern Goldfields before dawn, then throughout remaining southern districts, northern Goldfields, Interior and inland parts of the Pilbara and Kimberley in the afternoon. Showers about the Central West and southwest Gascoyne, mainly coastal. Morning showers about the south coast east of Esperance.

Forecast for Thursday 11 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible about southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and Eucla in the morning, extending into the Interior, Kimberley and east Pilbara in the afternoon. Showers mainly about coastal parts for the Central West and northern Lower West districts.

Forecast for Friday 12 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible about southern parts of the South West Land Division and Eucla, contracting to the South East Coastal District in the afternoon. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the eastern Interior, north and east Kimberley. Showers in remaining parts of the South West Land Division southwest of a line Kalbarri to Esperance.

Forecast for Saturday 13 October
Showers and thunderstorms extending to southwest of a line Coral Bay to Eucla. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far north Kimberley during the afternoon.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
