Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A low pressure system lies over the eastern Pilbara with a trough extending towards the southeast Kimberley. Another trough extends from the low into the Gascoyne and will gradually push eastwards through the Goldfields and over the Interior over the next couple of days. A broad trough will lie through the north of the State over the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies to the south of the State. A trough lies near the west coast with a low pressure system offshore from the SW Capes. The low pressure system will remain near stationary Thursday night before weakening and moving inland on Friday and Saturday, as a weak ridge of high pressure develops to the south of the State. A new trough will develop near the Central West coast on Sunday and move offshore from southern parts of the west coast on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 4 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms through the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern Interior, inland Pilbara and Eucla. Areas of rain possible through the Goldfields this afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms possibly severe with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding in the Central West, northern Great Southern, southeast Gascoyne and the western Goldfields this afternoon and evening.

Showers and thunderstorms through the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla, southeastern Gascoyne and southern Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 6 October
Showers through southern parts of the South West Land Division, with possible early morning thunderstorms about the Southeast Coastal district. Morning showers and thunderstorms over the Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 7 October
Showers about southern coastal parts of the South West Land Division. Showers, with possible thunderstorms developing about northern and central parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern Gascoyne and western Eucla.
Forecast for Monday 8 October
Showers about southern coastal parts of the South West Land Division. Showers, with possible thunderstorms about northern and central parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern Gascoyne, southern Interior and the Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
