Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad surface trough lies well inland over the Pilbara and Kimberley, extending into the Gascoyne. The trough deepens near the west coast on Wednesday as a low forms near the southern Gascoyne coast. The trough will move eastwards during Thursday and Friday as a weak embedded low develops over the eastern Pilbara and north Interior.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies to the south of the State with a mid-level disturbance over the southern parts of the South West Land Division. The middle level system will slowly move eastwards as a trough develops through the Gascoyne tonight. The trough deepens near the west coast on Wednesday with a low pushing off the Gascoyne coast before tracking southwards offshore from the west coast. By Friday night the low begins to weaken before moving inland over the southwest of the South West Land Division during Saturday morning.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 2 October
Showers through the southeast of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, and Eucla. Possible showers and thunderstorms about the southeastern Interior.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 October
Showers and thunderstorms through the South West Land Division, southeastern Gascoyne, western Goldfields, and southeastern Interior. Showers through the Eucla, and southern Goldfields. Late shower or thunderstorm possible about the Gascoyne coast.

Forecast for Thursday 4 October
Showers and thunderstorms through the northern and western South West Land Division, Gascoyne, and western Interior, tending to areas of rain with the chance of a thunderstorm through southeastern parts of the South West Land Division and Goldfields. Possible morning showers about the Eucla coast, with possible showers and thunderstorms in the western Eucla in the evening.

Forecast for Friday 5 October
Showers and thunderstorms through the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla and the adjacent Southern Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 6 October
Showers through all but northern and northeastern parts of the South West Land Division, tending to areas of rain about the South Coastal and Great Southern districts. Showers and thunderstorms through the southern Interior and Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
