Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad surface trough lies well inland over the Pilbara and Kimberley. A low lies in the trough over the far southwestern Pilbara and will move south during today and Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies off the south coast and a low pressure system is developing over the northwestern Gascoyne. The low will move south during today and Saturday, increasing the easterly flow over central and western parts of the State. From Sunday the low dissipates into a trough of low pressure that moves east. The low and trough will produce unstable conditions over the southern half of WA from Friday night and across the weekend. A new trough will develop near the west coast early Tuesday before moving eastwards during the day.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 28 September
Windy through the Gascoyne, northern and western South West Land Division. Showers and possible thunderstorms over the South Interior. Late showers and possible thunderstorms developing over the Central West and adjacent parts of the Central Wheat Belt and Gascoyne. Showers near the coastal Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 29 September
Showers and possible thunderstorms through the South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern Gascoyne, Eucla and adjacent Interior. Showers about the western Gascoyne and northern Kimberley. Windy across central and western parts of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 30 September
Showers and possible thunderstorms through the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, adjacent Pilbara, Goldfields, South Interior and the Eucla. Showers about the northern Interior.

Forecast for Monday 1 October
Showers across southern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers and possible thunderstorms in the southeast of the State will clear during the day.

Forecast for Tuesday 2 October
Showers across southern parts of the South West Land Division and adjacent southern Goldfields, with possible thunderstorms about southern coastal parts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
