Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies near the coastal parts of the Pilbara and extends into the central parts of the Kimberley. Tropical Cyclone Veronica has formed off the Kimberley coast well to the northwest of Broome. The system is expected to track to the west southwest over the next few days, approaching the west Pilbara coast during the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough lies near the west coast and will move into Gascoyne and Goldfields during Friday as a ridge of high pressure develops south of the State. The ridge will lie near the south coast on Saturday and Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 20 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, far western Interior, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, far western Eucla and over the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 21 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, southwest Interior, Inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers near the south coast with possible thunderstorms east of Albany.

Forecast for Friday 22 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, southwestern Interior, Goldfields, eastern parts of the South West Land Division and over the Eucla. Showers and drizzle over the southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 23 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, southwestern Interior, Goldfields, far eastern parts of the South West Land Division and over the Eucla. Possible damaging winds and heavy rainfall near the west Pilbara coast, depending on movement of Tropical Cyclone Veronica.
Showers and drizzle over the southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 24 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and southwestern Interior. Possible damaging winds and heavy rainfall near the west Pilbara coast, depending on movement of Tropical Cyclone Veronica. Showers near the south coast and Eucla coast.
