Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak surface trough extends from the inland Kimberley towards central Australia. A low pressure centre over the southeastern Gascoyne also extends a trough towards central Australia. This feature will weaken over the next 24 hours as a ridge extend north from the south coast. From later on Monday, a new trough will develop from from the Kimberley to the Gascoyne and will deepen further during Tuesday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough will gradually develop and deepen from the Gascoyne down the west coast during Monday before moving offshore of the west coast on Tuesday. A weak low pressure centre may briefly develop offshore from the Central West during Wednesday before moving inland on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 7 October
Showers about southern coastal parts of the South West Land Division. Showers and thunderstorms through the northern Central Wheat Belt, eastern Central West, Goldfields, South Interior and northern Eucla. Thunderstorms possibly severe through the eastern Goldfields and southwestern Interior.

Forecast for Monday 8 October
Showers about southern coastal parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields, Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern and eastern parts of the Lower West. Showers, with possible morning thunderstorms through the eastern South Interior, eastern Goldfields and eastern Eucla.

Forecast for Tuesday 9 October
Showers about southern coastal parts of the South West Land Division and Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms developing through remaining central and western parts of the South West Land Division during the day. Possible showers and thunderstorms through the eastern North Interior and southeastern Kimberley.

Forecast for Wednesday 10 October
Showers and thunderstorms over all but northern parts of the South West Land Division. The chance of showers and thunderstorms over the Interior, Goldfields, and eastern Kimberley most likely in the afternoon and evening. Morning showers for coastal parts between Geraldton and Shark Bay. Showers about the south coast east of Esperance.

Forecast for Thursday 11 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible about southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields, Eucla, eastern Interior and eastern Kimberley. Showers mainly about coastal parts for the Central West and Lower West districts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
