Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the northern Gascoyne, through the inland Pilbara and into the North Interior, and will remain near stationary for the next few days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State with a deep surface trough just inland from the west coast. The trough will move east during Saturday, with a weak front brushing the south coast. A strong ridge of high pressure will build in the wake of the front south of the State over the remainder of the weekend. A new surface trough will develop near the west coast on Monday and deepen on Tuesday.

Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, far northwest Interior and the inland western Gascoyne.

Forecast for Saturday 2 February
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, far northern Interior and the northwestern Gascoyne. Showers extending along the south coast during the day. Thunderstorms possible over the southern Goldfields and eastern Southeast Coastal district in the late evening. Very hot over the Goldfields and northern parts of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 3 February
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara and the northern and eastern Gascoyne. Showers and thunderstorms also possible over the Eucla, the southern Goldfields and adjacent parts, contracting east during the day. Light showers along the south coast. Very hot over northern parts of the State.

Forecast for Monday 4 February
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Interior, inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and far eastern and northeastern parts of the South West Land Division. Light showers along the south coast. Very hot over northern parts of the State.

Forecast for Tuesday 5 February
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Interior, inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms also developing over northern parts of the South West Land Division during the morning, extending gradually south during the day and reaching the south coast in the late evening.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
