Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure will build over central parts of the State from Saturday resulting in a generally east to southeasterly flow across the north over the weekend and most of next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front over southwestern parts of the State will contract away into the Bight during Saturday morning. A pool of very cold and unstable air will move across southern parts in the wake of the front during Saturday. A ridge will develop in the wake of the front and a high pressure system will form over southern parts of the State from Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 16 August
Showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Southern Cross to Esperance. Thunderstorms, gusty winds and small hail possible southwest of a line from Lancelin to Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Saturday 17 August
Showers southwest of a line Carnarvon to Eyre, contracting to southern parts of the state and the west coast south of Jurien Bay during the morning. Hail and possible thunderstorms over southern parts, gradually easing from the west during the day. Possible snow on the Stirling Ranges, most likely during the morning.

Forecast for Sunday 18 August
Showers near the southern and Eucla coasts. Widespread areas of morning frost over southern inland parts of the State.

Forecast for Monday 19 August
Showers possible near the western south coast. Widespread areas of morning frost over southern inland parts of the State.

Forecast for Tuesday 20 August
Widespread areas of morning frost over southern inland parts of the State. Mostly sunny day.
