Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure system over southeastern Australia extends a ridge across the Interior and Pilbara. A cloud band will move through the Pilbara late Friday and over the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A rain band and associated cold front near the SW Capes will move through the South West Land Division, Gascoyne and Goldfields during Friday before weakening on Saturday. A second strong cold front will move across the South West Land Division during Saturday, with a vigorous westerly flow persisting in its wake on Sunday. Another cold front will reach the southwest corner of the State later on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 6 June
Rain developing over western parts of the South West Land Division. Moderate to heavy falls possible over the SW Capes, with damaging wind gusts possible.

Forecast for Friday 7 June
Rain extending throughout the Gascoyne and South West Land Division to the western Pilbara and the Goldfields during the day. Moderate falls possible over Gascoyne and western and central parts of the South West Land Division, with heavy falls possible along the coast from Coral Bay to Jurien Bay. The chance of a thunderstorm near the southwest coast in the morning.

Forecast for Saturday 8 June
Rain over the northeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, western and southern Pilbara and southwest Interior. Showers over the remaining Gascoyne and South West Land Division. The chance of a thunderstorm southwest of Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay. The chance of small hail with showers and thunderstorms from late evening over the SW Capes.

Forecast for Sunday 9 June
Showers over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, South Interior, Eucla and the South West Land Division. Thunderstorms, small hail and gusty winds possible over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Morning rain over the eastern Pilbara.

Forecast for Monday 10 June
Showers over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and the South West Land Division. Thunderstorms and small hail and possible over central and southern parts of the South West Land Division and the southern Goldfields.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
