Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad surface trough lies over the Kimberley and Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure will lie over the southern parts of the State during Wednesday. A surface trough near the west coast will move inland during Thursday ahead of a strong cold front expected to reach the SW Capes during the evening. The strong cold front will move east across the southern parts of the State on Friday. A ridge of high pressure will develop over the South West Land Division on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 16 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, Interior and eastern Eucla. Showers about southern and western parts of the South West Land Division contracting to the coast in the evening.

Forecast for Wednesday 17 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley, inland Pilbara and Interior. Showers about coastal parts between Geraldton and Eyre, clearing during the day.

Forecast for Thursday 18 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley, western Goldfields and eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and far eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers and thunderstorms developing about the South West and southern Lower West and adjacent parts during Thursday night.

Forecast for Friday 19 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla, Interior, eastern Pilbara and western Kimberley. Showers about the west Gascoyne.

Forecast for Saturday 20 April
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division, contracting to the south coast during the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms in the Eucla, Interior, and western Kimberley. Chance of a showers about the southwest Gascoyne.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
