Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies through the Pilbara and North Interior, where it will remain until Monday before moving south into the South Interior on Tuesday and Wednesday. A tropical low is expected to develop over waters off the north Kimberley coast later in the week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge lies to the south of the State. A deep surface trough lies just inland from the west coast, and will contract further eastwards towards the Goldfields on Monday and Tuesday. A low pressure system is expected to develop over southwestern parts of the State later on Tuesday before deepening on moving to the east during Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 20 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and eastern Interior, and far northeastern Gascoyne. Very hot through northern and western parts of the State.

Forecast for Monday 21 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior and inland Gascoyne. Showers developing along the southwest coast between Albany and Cape Naturaliste in the evening. Very hot through the Gascoyne, Interior, Pilbara, southern Kimberley, Goldfields and inland parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Tuesday 22 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers increasing over coastal and southern parts of the South West Land Division, tending to areas of rain with strong winds in coastal areas of the Southwest. Very hot through eastern Gascoyne, Pilbara, Goldfields, South Interior, Eucla and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 23 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, Interior, far eastern Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers over remaining areas southwest of Jurien Bay to Esperance, tending to areas of rain with strong winds in southern coastal parts. Very hot through the southeast of the State.

Forecast for Thursday 24 January
Showers and thunderstorms through the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, Interior and eastern Eucla. Showers through southern and coastal parts of the South West Land Division south of Perth.
