Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A deep surface trough lies over the central Pilbara, and should remain there for the next few days. On Monday or Tuesday a weak tropical low may develop in the Timor Sea, remaining well north of the Kimberley.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough lies over the inland Gascoyne and inland South West Land Division, and will move east through the Gascoyne and into the Eucla during Sunday. A strong south to southwesterly wind change is expected with the passage of the trough over southern parts on Sunday. By Monday the trough will broaden out over the Interior, where it will remain for the following few days.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 12 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, northeast and southeast Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, central parts of the South West Land Division and Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 13 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern half of the state. Morning showers and thunderstorms near the western south coast. Very hot over northern and eastern parts of the State, with a strong and gusty cooler change moving through the Southeast Coastal district and southern Goldfields during the afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Monday 14 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, northern and eastern Goldfields, Interior and eastern Eucla. Slight chance of a shower near the central south coast. Very hot over northern, central and southeastern parts.

Forecast for Tuesday 15 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and far eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over northern and central parts.

Forecast for Wednesday 16 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and the Southeast Coastal district.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Sunday.
